Live by Request Training Courses

AWPTI currently offers a number of Live by Request Training Courses, this means that anyone can book in you don’t have to be part of an organisation with multiple attendees.  As a result of current workplace restrictions we are running our training courses via Zoom. We will conduct any of our Live by Request Training Courses of weekends.

What exactly is ‘Live by Request’

Live by Request  are programs delivered online in person by industry leading workplace investigation and training professional Phil O’Brien. With many years experience investigating a wide variety of misconduct complaints, Phil brings real world expertise to the training programs all of which have been developed by Phil based on his actual experience in the field. Understanding Sexual Harassment in the workplace  – 60 – 90 minute session designed for groups.

This session goes far beyond the ‘tick a box’ or non interactive online training that only covers definitions and how to report.  This session consists of questions, case studies and discussion where participants are asked to comment;

The session also includes discussion around actual sexual harassment investigation cases and the Fact & Fiction section that illustrates comments made by victims that make them feel that they can’t report matters and comments/excuses made by perpetrators in actual interviews.

The program can be delivered in person or by Zoom or Teams nationwide or internationally.

Understanding Workplace Misconduct – 60 – 90 minute session designed for groups.

This is a general course course dealing with workplace bullying, harassment, sexual harassment and discrimination. The program can be delivered in person or by Zoom or Teams nationwide or internationally. Understanding Workplace Interpersonal Conflict Standard – 2 hour session 

A course for employees of all levels designed to deliver pathways to optimal workplace communications and relationships. This courses teaches participants how to develop and maintain harmonious working relationship based on mutual respect.

Understanding Workplace Interpersonal Conflict  Advanced – For Managers – 1/2 day course

A course for managers and supervisors. This courses teaches participants how to deal with  interpersonal conflict between employees and maintain harmonious working relationship based on mutual respect and shows managers how avoid interpersonal conflict with employees and avoid complaint of bullying when managing staff and conducting performance management programs and reviews.

Investigating Workplace Misconduct (2 day course – 14 hours) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED – For more details or to schedule a course please click here

Recommended for HR professionals and managers involved in the investigation of  complaints/incidents such as bullying, harassment, sexual harassment and discrimination and other forms of misconduct. This is a highly interactive course where participants work through an actual investigation from the receipt of the complaint, interviewing parties, drafting allegations and making finding and recommendations. This course also includes actual interviewing practice time with our facilitators in the roles of complainant, witnesses and the respondent. We are now offering the option of this course being conducted via Zoom in 4 half day sessions.

This course is recommend for 1 to up to 10 participants, however we do not limit the number of participants.  The recommended limit is to ensure that all participants get sufficient interview practice time.

A condensed version of the 2 day course in lecture format.  It is recommended for HR professionals and managers involved in the investigation of misconduct or complaints. Like the 2 day course this is a interactive course where participants receive instruction around complaint analysis, interview planning and interviewing parties, drafting allegations and making finding and recommendations however there no actual interviewing practice time. We are now offering the option of this course being conducted via Zoom in 2 half day (3.5 hour)  sessions.

This is also a condensed version of the 2 day course.  It is recommended for HR professionals and managers involved in the investigation of misconduct or complaints. Like the 2 day course this is a highly interactive course where participants receive instruction around complaint analysis, interview planning and interviewing parties, drafting allegations and making finding and recommendations this course also includes actual interviewing practice time with our facilitators in the roles of complainant, witnesses and the respondent. We are now offering the option of this course being conducted via Zoom in 2 half day (4.5 hour) sessions.

This course is recommend for 1-2 participants to allow for sufficient interview practice time

Interviewing Difficult Respondents (1 day course) For more details or to schedule a course  please click this link for details

This is a standalone course that is devoted to interview practice and evidence analysis and the opportunity to practice interviewing argumentative, intimidating and aggressive respondents.  It is recommended as an advanced level course to allow participants to discuss and experience the process of interviewing and dealing with difficult respondents.

As a workplace investigator I call the combination of alcohol and workplace events the Danger Zone. Needless to say the conference season and the period between Melbourne Cup day and Christmas are very busy times for workplace Investigators, especially when it comes to investigating sexual harassment complaints.

This Live by Request Training Courses is specific to sexual harassment and has been designed for individuals who have had issues in relation to their behaviour that may constitute sexual harassment and as part of the remedial action, training and coaching to understand sexual harassment is recommended. 

All of our training is conducted by Phil O’Brien a highly qualified and experienced workplace investigator. The programs have been developed as a result of  Phil having to investigate 100s of complaints of misconduct including bullying, harassment, sexual harassment, fraud, theft, misuse of resources including IT and email and many more.  The training is not just theoretical, it is based on actually incidents, complaints and issues experienced.
